So, I’m Catholic and tattooed. That might not be a big deal for you and maybe it is… I don’t know. All I know is that my goal for this whole blog is to try and crush the negative Christian stereotype. You know, the goody-two-shoe, always thinking they’re right, looking down on you, super hypocritical individual who is the reason why most people are turned off to Christianity.
Now, do any of the above adjectives describe me as a Catholic Christian? Yes. In fact, I can think of instances where I would be guilty of every single one of them. What does that say about me? It says I’m a human being born with a nature to sin and while I may do things like get tattooed, have a few too many drinks on occasion or hold a grudge (hardly the worst I’ve done but I barely know you yet), I know Who holds my future and I remember that when my head hits the pillow every night.
In the big scheme of things we are all hypocrites and always will be. It doesn’t mean we can strive not to be a hypocrite. It just means there is always room for us to improve and my hope for this blog is to continually help myself improve and perhaps a few others along the way.
Stay tuned, it’s bound to be a bumpy ride.
